Removing a urinary sheath

Your Ugo Sheath can be worn for up to 24 hours. After this time, you should follow the steps below to safely remove your urinary sheath.

To remove your sheath:

  • Wash and dry your hands (if a carer is removing the sheath for you, they must apply a clean pair of gloves after drying their hands).
  • To remove your Ugo Sheath, release the base of the sheath all the way around.
  • Use warm water and soap or use an adhesive remover to ease the sheath off by rolling it up and off the penis.

Examine the skin on your penis before applying a new sheath. Your skin should be intact. If there are any sores to the skin on your penis, please do not apply the sheath and discuss with a healthcare professional who will be able to advise on an alternative way of managing your continence in the interim.
