Fitting leg bag straps

It’s important that you always secure and support your leg bag. If you let your leg bag hang down at any point unsupported, this can cause trauma within your bladder and/or urethra. Leg bag straps are one of the fixation devices you may choose to secure your leg bag in a position that is comfortable for you. You can use leg bag straps to secure your leg bag on your thigh, upper knee or shin.

Method A

Using both leg bag straps in the pack to attach your leg bag to your thigh or shin.

Step 1: Feed the long Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap (75cm) through the 4 eyelet holes at the top of your leg bag ensuring the silicone line on the leg bag strap is positioned towards the back of the leg bag.
Step 2: Feed the short Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap (45cm) through the bottom 2 eyelet holes of your leg bag ensuring the silicone line on the leg bag strap is positioned towards the back of the leg bag.
Step 3: Attach the leg bag straps around your thigh or shin in the desired position and use the Velcro tabs to secure in place. You may find it easier to secure the top strap first. Ensure your leg bag is supported and that you can move around comfortably with it in place.

Method B

Using only the long strap to attach your catheter leg bag to your upper knee.

Step 1: Feed the long Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap (75cm) through the 4 eyelet holes at the top of your leg bag ensuring the silicone line on the leg bag strap are positioned towards the back of the leg bag.
Step 2: Position the leg bag on your upper knee and take both ends of the long Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap and pass it around the back of your thigh just above your knee. Cross the straps at the back of the knee and bring the two ends of the strap to the front of your leg.
Step 3: Feed the ends of the leg bag strap through the bottom 2 eyelet holes of your leg bag, attaching with the Velcro tab behind the bag. Ensure your Ugo Leg Bag is supported and that you can move around comfortably with it in place.

If the long Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap (75cm) is not long enough, you can attach it to the short Ugo Fix Leg Bag Strap (45cm) using the Velcro tab for extra length before attaching to your leg.
